The central stations of the Minsk metro are closed at the entrance and exit. This was announced on Wednesday, August 12, by the Telegram channel of the Moscow Metro.

“08/12/2020 at 17.35, in order to ensure the safety of passengers, the metro stations Oktyabrskaya, Kupalovskaya, Lenin Square and Victory Square are closed at the entrance and exit. Trains run without stopping at these stations. The Minsk Metro apologizes for the temporary inconvenience, ”the statement reads.

In addition, the Nemiga, Frunzenskaya and Molodezhnaya metro stations are closed from 18.00 to the entrance and exit.

On the eve of the Minsk Metro made a similar decision and closed the central stations for passengers.

At the moment, in the capital of Belarus and other cities of the country, there are massive protests of those who disagree with the results of the presidential elections. The rallies are accompanied by riots and clashes with security officials.

The Republic’s Investigative Committee has already opened criminal cases on the facts of riots and violence against the security forces.
