The United States and its partners are striving for a more constructive relationship with Russia, but Moscow is obliged to abide by international obligations. This was stated by US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken.
“Together with our partners and allies, we strive for a more constructive relationship with Russia, but it must fulfill its international obligations,” he wrote on Twitter.
According to him, the United States “joins the leaders of the European Union and condemns” the ban on entry to Russia of a number of European officials. Blinken believes that Russia’s decision was “yet another attempt to intimidate critics.”
Earlier, the Russian Foreign Ministry published a list of EU citizens who are prohibited from entering Russia. This list includes the President of the European Parliament David Sassoli, the head of the Berlin prosecutor’s office Jörg Raupach, the deputy chairman of the European Commission, the European Commissioner for Values and Transparency Vera Yurova and others.
