Only 52% of Americans unequivocally or to some extent approve of the activities of US President Joe Biden in the first 100 days of his presidency. This is evidenced by a joint poll by the Washington Post and ABC News.
Thus, Biden’s approval rating was one of the lowest in history. This figure was lower only for Donald Trump (42%) and Gerald Ford (48%).
According to the results of the survey, 42% of respondents spoke negatively about Biden’s activities as President of the United States. At the same time, among those who supported the current head of the White House, 90% turned out to be democrats.
More than half of those surveyed (64%) expressed approval of Biden’s policy in combating the COVID-19 pandemic. His economic policy was approved by 52% of respondents.
Only 37% of respondents gave a positive assessment of his actions regarding the migration crisis on the border with Mexico.
At the same time, more than half of the respondents, or 60%, advised Biden to enlist the support of Republicans in Congress, and only 30% of the study participants believe that Biden can act independently.
The survey participants also appreciated the package of measures to stimulate the economy of the US leader. He was supported by 65% of Americans, while 31% of those polled opposed it.
The survey was conducted from 18 to 21 April in English and Spanish. More than 1 thousand respondents who have reached the age of majority took part in it.
In early February, it was reported that Biden’s rating dropped by two percentage points compared to the first days of his presidency. Then it turned out that 61% of respondents approve of his work as head of the United States.
The US Congress approved the election of Democrat Joe Biden as President of the United States on January 7. His inauguration took place on January 20.
