US President Joe Biden will deliver his first major speech as head of state on Monday. As reported on Saturday, January 30, CNN channel, citing a high-ranking source in the administration, will outline the future foreign policy of the United States.

According to the source of the TV channel, Biden will set forth his vision of foreign policy aimed at “restoring America’s place in the world.”

Earlier, White House press secretary Jen Psaki said at a briefing that on Monday the American leader will visit the State Department, where she will meet with Secretary of State Anthony Blinken. Most likely, according to the TV channel, the speech will take place during a planned visit to the Foreign Ministry.

On January 30, US Ambassador to Moscow John Sullivan said there was no need to restart relations between Russia and the United States. At the same time, according to him, Washington has always believed that it is necessary to conduct a dialogue with Russia. A good example of cooperation between the two countries, the diplomat noted, was not only the START-3 agreement, but also the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.

On January 26, Putin and Biden held their first telephone conversation, during which they discussed, in particular, the fate of the START Treaty. After that, the Russian leader introduced a bill on the ratification of the document to the lower house of parliament. As a result, the State Duma and the Federation Council ratified an agreement to extend the treaty.

Biden took the oath of office on January 20 and took office as the 46th President of the United States. After that, the Russian ambassador to the United States, Anatoly Antonov, expressed the hope that with the coming to power of Biden, a new chapter would begin in the development of Russian-American relations.
