US President Joe Biden congratulated Serbia on the upcoming State Day and demanded the recognition of Kosovo.
In particular, in his congratulations, Biden noted that the United States remains steadfast in supporting Serbia in European integration and will support in other difficult steps, including the implementation of reforms and the achievement of a comprehensive agreement on normalization with Kosovo.
The American president also recalled the alliance between Washington and Belgrade in the First and Second World Wars.
In response, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, speaking to media representatives, said that Belgrade’s position on the recognition of Kosovo is clear and that Belgrade should take care of its state interests.
“I have already said to my face that I am thinking of recognition, and my answer will not be different,” added Vucic.
