The Ministry of Defense of Belarus has repeatedly recorded the violation of the border in the airspace from Poland. This was announced on Friday, April 30, by the press service of the Belarusian military department.
“On April 29 at 02:02 am (coincides with Moscow time), in the area of the village of Kozlovichi, radar reconnaissance means of the Air Force and Air Defense Forces, in cooperation with the border service of the Republic of Belarus, recorded a repeated violation of the state border of the Republic of Belarus in the airspace by the Republic of Poland within a month “, – the message says.
It is emphasized that the Mi-24 helicopter, which violated the border, left the territory of Belarus at 02:03 in the area of the settlement of Terebun. In addition, according to the Ministry of Defense of the Republic, the aircraft was accompanied by air defense systems.
Earlier, on April 13, it was reported that the day before an unknown aircraft violated the border of Belarus from Poland, and then returned back to the Polish side.
As a result of the incident, the Polish military attaché was summoned to the Belarusian defense department, where he was warned about the need to investigate the incident.
At the same time, the operational command of the Polish Armed Forces then denied information that Polish military aircraft flew near the border with Belarus.
In early April, the deputy head of the Belarusian State Border Committee Sergei Novikov said that Belarus and Russia are preparing a new border security program for 2023–2027. Thus, within the framework of the program, it is planned to strengthen the protection of the Belarusian-Polish section of the border through the construction and reconstruction of engineering barriers, as well as the modernization of the existing signaling systems.
In September last year, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said that the country was forced to close the borders with Lithuania and Poland and increase security on the border with Ukraine. The Belarusian leader appealed to the peoples of these countries with an appeal to stop their politicians and prevent them from starting a war.
