Russian rap artist Vasily Vakulenko (Basta) has opened a promotion company for the Gazfight boxing tournaments, the first of which will take place on May 21.
According to the musician, he himself has been boxing for three years, and recently decided to delve into this sport.
“We talked a lot about what can be done for boxing, what is more interesting to come up with to make this wonderful sport even bigger, cooler and more popular. This idea was born. Throughout the year, we discussed step by step how to do it, how to do it in an interesting way, it is useful to make it cool, ”REN TV quotes the artist.
The program includes boxing evenings with show elements. As the organizers promise, the evenings will be filled with special effects, and there will be performances by artists between battles.
The first tournament will take place on May 21 in the city of Khimki, Moscow region. It will include competition for the mandatory contender for the World Boxing Council (WBC) title in the new 101.6kg weight class. The Russians Dmitry Kudryashov and Evgeny Romanov will meet in the ring.
In 2019, Basta officially became the owner of the SKA football club from Rostov-on-Don. The team competes in the championship of the Professional Football League (PFL, third division). The musician invited the professionals of the football industry to the team, who will be directly involved in the management.
