Omsk “Avangard” defeated Kazan “Ak Bars” in the seventh match of the KHL semi-finals of the KHL playoffs and reached the final of the Gagarin Cup, Sport-Express reports on April 15.
The meeting took place at the Tatneft Arena stadium in Kazan and ended with a 4: 3 victory for the guests after overtime.
At Avangard, Kirill Semyonov, Ville Pokka and Oliver Kaski scored twice. As part of Ak Bars, the goals were scored by Dmitry Voronkov, Albert Yarullin and Artem Galimov.
Thus, Bob Hartley’s team reached the final of the tournament, where they will play against CSKA, which previously defeated SKA St. Petersburg in six matches in the semifinal series.
The Kazan team won bronze medals in the Russian championship.
The first match of the final series of the Gagarin Cup – 2021 will be held in Moscow on April 18.
Avangard’s rival, CSKA Moscow, won the KHL regular championship for the sixth time in February.
The match against Ak Bars took place in Kazan and ended with a score of 1: 0.
