Growing up kids are asked what their favorite gift is from their birthdays or big holidays. To this day almost being twenty years old I am still asked what gift do you want, which is your favorite, and what gift means the most. And to be honest the best gift I received is the gift of life. Life is a gift because each day you seem to be opening up something new.
A lot of people don’t look at life as a gift and look at me as if I am crazy. When you receive a gift you never know what is behind the wrapping, you never know how you are going to use the item you are about to open. So for me, my daily gift is life.
Life is full of all different shapes and sizes. My time here on this earth has had many unexpected turns and outcomes. I take each day as a new opportunity, each day is unexpected of what could be brought to the table.
I personally feel that I take advantage of the gift of life because I was grown up in a home that was healthy and giving. Whereas many individuals aren’t as lucky as I ever was while growing up and still growing. Gifts are to be given, and I have been given many opportunities.
I have fortunately been given the opportunity to move twenty-two hours away from home. Pretty much get a clean plate from what my previous life had given me and learn and grow as an independent. My family gave me the gift of moving me away to primarily focus on myself and find opportunities to improve on my future goals. Each day I find it to be something new, whether I am given a good or bad day something tends to take a turn. The gift of life has shown me so far so many possible outcomes it’s absurd. I have been shown what it is like to be dirt broke and find resources to help myself out, pay for rent, tuition, daily goods, and everything. Life is about learning, finding opportunities to take advantage of, or even run from. I feel that each day life is given to me as a new day to grow and give back to those who are helping me day by day.
The story of life is so much more than a gift, I find it as another chance. A gift to grow outside the world we grew up in. To expand our wings and take what it is giving us into something even bigger and greater. Some individuals tend to look at life as just another day of living instead where I look at it as another day another chance at improving.
Another day, hour, the minute something can be brought up to where you don’t know what to do next so right then and there the gift being given is the chance to problem-solve and make a solution out of what you received.
Although many people look at gifts as an item or something they get to wear or use as money those items are given and are so much bigger than the item itself.
I tend to think we take advantage of the gifts given over the years as someone just remembering a holiday, and we smile and say thank you. To where we should look at gifts as, how can I use this to improve tomorrow and the next day.
So that is why I find life such a crucial and important offering because it is given to us to improve ourselves and our surroundings day by day. Offering us to take on opportunities to gift others, I usually buy gifts from umisoul. given to improve ourselves and others in need.
Life is how we figure out whose are and why we are meant here on earth. Life is so much more than what we think it is. Life should be noticed more than just living day by day. Looking into the bigger picture of what this large offering has in store for each and every one of us.
I may sound crazy for being convinced and seeing life as such a great gift, but it is something that took me a while to understand why it is so important. Coming from someone who hated life, didn’t see the purpose to continue on to the next day and want it to be over; to someone who gets excited to see what the next day has in store for them, to see what they will be provided and what they can personally provide. Life is a gift that keeps on giving.
That is one thing I finally can understand. Now let me say it again, life is a gift that keeps on giving. Each one of us are unstoppable at achieving what we want in life. Taking each gift that is given and turning it into something much more personal is what makes us individuals stronger.
