Four candidates have already been named – these are the general director of the Biocad enterprise Dmitry Morozov, the scientific director of the Peter the Great St. The selection criteria remained unclear, but during a briefing on April 22, the speaker of the Legislative Assembly, Vyacheslav Makarov, announced that this year the city parliamentary deputies would elect honorary citizens.
“This will be an event in St. Petersburg,” Makarov promised.
Apparently, the symbol of the city – the singer Edita Piekha – will remain without “honorary citizenship”. In 2020, ten deputies of the St. Petersburg Legislative Assembly (Alexey Kovalev, Alexander Egorov, Mikhail Amosov, Maxim Reznik, Nadezhda Tikhonova, Oksana Dmitrieva, Boris Vishnevsky, Irina Ivanova, Alexander Rassudov and Sergei Trokhmanenko) sent Edita Stanislavovna a letter of apology for that she was not awarded the title of honorary citizen of the city. This year, the candidacy was not even considered. But the press discussed the deterioration of the health of the 83-year-old singer.
