SERB activists attacked the director Vitaly Mansky. This was reported on Friday, April 9, by the REN TV channel.
A man’s underpants were thrown over the man’s head, accompanying the incident with the phrase that they were returned to him. The activists approached the director when he was talking to journalists during the Artdocfest festival. Mansky was asked about his films and asked about his desire to show the “other side” of Russia.
After that, without waiting for an answer, the director was attacked, but the intruders were quickly taken away from Mansky, deciding that they wanted to strangle him.
“These are cowards, this is not a stranglehold, what is the problem,” the attacker said.
Mansky’s Artdocfest festival was accused of extremism, and his films were assessed as questionable. At the same time, State Duma deputy Vitaly Milonov called for the organizers of the event to be held accountable, accusing them of demonstrating Nazi symbols in films and inciting hostility on ethnic grounds.
On February 11, it became known that a scuffle had taken place between director Rostislav Musaev and actor Vladimir Epifantsev. As a result, the director required medical attention.
