The All-Russian Research Institute for Civil Defense and Emergencies (VNII GOChS) presented a new development. This is a unique mobile radar system that determines the location of a person under the rubble of destroyed buildings. The search is carried out using sensors that track the breathing and movements of living beings. The complex is also able to calculate the distance to the victim. The novelty was presented at the Army-2020 forum.
The speed of the new apparatus is 3 minutes for a survey of 10 square meters. VNII GOChS noted another positive characteristic of the complex – a high degree of search reliability. The device can be used in addition to destroyed buildings, when searching for people after landslides. About work with avalanches – information was not specified.
