The existing gas power plant will be renovated in Nogliki. Its resource is almost exhausted, and it is time to think about the construction of another energy facility – a thermal power plant. Details were told by the government of the Sakhalin region.
“In order to ensure reliable power supply to residents and enterprises of the northern regions of Sakhalin, as well as the prospective development of the territory, it is necessary to build a new energy facility within the next five years,” said Governor of the region Valery Limarenko.
The region has already found an investor for the project. The first stage will be financed by Gazprombank. He is ready to give 5.5 billion rubles for construction.
The government, in turn, promised to help the investor interact with local authorities, and the Far East Development Corporation will provide him with administrative support and protection of interests.
