A pedestrian crossing under MCD-2 will be built in Moscow

The construction of an underground pedestrian crossing under MCD-2 on 1st Tushinsky passage in Moscow will begin in May this year. This was reported on Monday, April 26, at the press service of the Moscow Construction Department.

“In the course of the work, new engineering communications will be rebuilt and new utilities will be laid, the territory will be landscaped,” the Moscow city news agency quotes the words of the head of the Moscow construction department, Rafik Zagrutdinov. The construction is scheduled to be completed in a year.

An electronic tender has been announced for the construction of the facility. Applications can be submitted until May 17.

The pedestrian crossing will provide a safe and comfortable crossing of the railway tracks of the Riga direction of the Moscow Railway (MZD), access to the secondary school and the Polytechnic College No. 47 named after V.G. Fedorov.

The length of the facility will be 61 m, width – 4 m. Also, two staircases with overhead wheelchair ramps and two elevators will be equipped to provide access for people with limited mobility, RIAMO specifies.

Earlier, on April 22, it was reported that Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin opened the Vnukovo suburban station of the Kiev direction of the Moscow Railway (MZD), which appeared after the reconstruction of the Vnukovo station.

During the reconstruction of the station, a new island platform was erected with a canopy against rain, snow and sun, benches and electronic information boards were installed. A reversal ring will be organized nearby, additional pedestrian crossings and traffic lights, a taxi stand, bicycle rental, as well as intercepting parking for 805 cars and a multi-level garage will appear.
