In Russia, from June 1, new amendments to the traffic rules may come into force, which provide for fines for driving on summer or winter tires outside the season, according to Rossiyskaya Gazeta. The amendments will enter into force on June 1, if the government approves them. In the meantime, the requirement to change tires is not mandatory.
If the amendments are approved, then for driving in a car with winter studded tires in summer and with summer tires in winter, a fine of 500 rubles will be imposed.
Initially, a project with an initiative to ban the use of off-season tires appeared last year. Its author is the Ministry of Internal Affairs. So far, this requirement is listed only in the technical regulations on the safety of wheeled vehicles of the Customs Union.
