A new All-Russian Arctic Literary Prize named after V.S. Maslova

The Writers’ Union of Russia and the Governor of the Murmansk Region Andrei Chibis established the Vitaly Semenovich Maslov All-Russian Arctic Literary Prize. Authors of works about the Arctic can apply for it. The head of the region announced this today on his page in the social network.

“The award is dedicated to the memory of our fellow countryman – writer, polar explorer, public figure. He lived and worked in the Kola Arctic, participated in the conquest of the Arctic, revived the tradition of celebrating the Day of Slavic Written Language and Culture, ”wrote Andrey Chibis.

He also noted that the awards based on the results of the competition in the nominations “Contemporary Prose” and “Contemporary Poetry”, as well as in the thematic category “Kola Polar Region – the Gateway to the Arctic”. The amount of the prize in each nomination is 250 thousand rubles.
