During the period of severe frosts, due to careless handling of heating devices in the Vladimir region, the number of people killed in fires increased. The growth was 80 percent.
As of February 24, 348 fires were registered in the region. They killed 30 people. Last week alone, fires claimed eight lives.
Rescuers say that most fires are caused by violation of the rules for the construction and operation of stoves and careless handling of fire when smoking.
The department also notes the growth of car fires. Since the beginning of 2021, 27 car fires have occurred in the region: four fires happened just over the past weekend.
Experts call the main reason for such fires improper operation in abnormal cold conditions.
