According to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), over the past day in Germany, the number of newly infected people has increased by 2,279, which is almost 300 people less than the previous day (2,563).
As of Sunday, October 4, 299,237 cases of infection were recorded in the country since the beginning of the collection of official statistical information on coronavirus. The total number of deaths from Covid-19 to date is 9,529 people. The R value over 4 days is 1.1.
It is estimated that there are 27,808 active cases, that is, people currently infected. This figure is not officially recorded by the Robert Koch Institute. However, as in other countries, it is determined by subtracting the number of deaths (9,529) and the estimated 261,900 recovered from all ever infected.
According to the Intensive Care Register, 404 people are currently being treated for Covid-19 in intensive care units. This represents 1.32 percent of the more than 30,600 intensive care beds in Germany.
