On the Square of Military Glory in Yoshkar-Ola, a solemn ceremony of seeing off young recruits to serve in the Russian Armed Forces took place.
The first team, consisting of 24 conscripts, went to the duty station in the Western Military District. Officials and public figures made parting speeches to the children.
Among the officials present were the mayor of the city Yevgeny Maslov, the military commissar Igor Artisanov, the founder of the Lukoz agoroholding Vladimir Kozhanov, representatives of the Orthodox Church and the local branch of the Combat Brotherhood. They wished the recruits to undergo military service with dignity.
As we wrote earlier, at the Markovskoye cemetery in Yoshkar-Ola the day before, order was put in place on the eve of Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War.
