According to the operational headquarters for combating the spread of coronavirus infection, 23 people died from complications caused by COVID-19 on July 29. Details of the course of their disease have not been reported.
The disease was diagnosed in 168 St. Petersburg residents and 47 residents of the Leningrad region.
In general, the trend towards a decrease in the incidence still persists, the average number of cases over the last week does not exceed 200 people.
In total, since the beginning of the pandemic in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region, 36,732 people have become ill with coronavirus. 27,593 cases have already recovered.
Despite the decrease in the incidence, the authorities of St. Petersburg have already begun to prepare for the second wave of coronavirus. The number of infectious beds will be increased in the city (link). In addition, about 1,500 beds will be additionally equipped in the Lenexpo pavilions.
